Hyenas

I noticed something about the hyena entries here...
When you look at the pictures of art people have done of hyenas, they VERY often have that strand of black hair coming down onto their face like the hyenas from The Lion King. However, if you look at any of the photographs, none of the hyenas have that. There was a kind (I think it's called Spotted Hyena) that didn't have any tufts of mane at all, there was a kind that had a slight tuft of fur on its head, and then I think the Striped Hyena had a big crest of fur on its back.
None of them had long fur on their heads.
Look at how big an influence Disney has...
Speaking of Disney hyenas, they also portrayed their hyenas as 'bad guys' (although obviously the big bad guy was Scar, who persuaded them to do his bidding for personal gain, and since things did not turn out the way the hyenas wanted, perhaps they were victems), and I noticed that a fairly large number of the illustrated entries the hyenas are pretty nasty looking or perhaps in a bad situation...
I like hyenas. The race that February protects is a race of hyena-like people. They are not the bad guys in my story
But my, what a large influence the popular media has on people...
Besides that, I'm feeling lazy again and may not finish March in a while. I may even start working on a different guardian and finish it first.
Also, I'm going to a party!
